A group from Hupy and Abraham attends SHARP Literacy's A Novel Event gala.

SHARP Literacy held their annual fund-raiser “A Novel Event” at the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee Monday, November 6, 2023. Nearly 400 guests attended the event that featured gourmet dinner stations, silent and live auctions and a Q&A with Green Bay Packers Running Back AJ Dillon, who talked about his new children’s book “Quadzilla Finds His Footing.” Employees from Hupy and Abraham were in attendance along with guests of the firm.

SHARP Literacy’s annual fund-raiser is held with the hopes to raise funds for the organization, which helps provide access to science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) programs to children in the area. The event started with dinner and a silent auction, leading to a program emceed by Milwaukee WISN 12 News Sports Director Dario Melendez and a welcome from SHARP Literacy’s President and CEO Lynda Kohler-Welsh.

Several SHARP board members received “Literacy Champion” awards for the help they give to expand access to STEAM programs for children. A live auction and “Raise the Paddle” call for donations followed to help raise funds for the organization. Through donations from Hupy and Abraham and others, the event was able to raise over $250,000 to help children in need.

Hupy and Abraham has been proud to support SHARP Literacy, and their efforts to bring STEAM programs to as many children as possible, for many years. Annually, employees from the firm support SHARP Literacy through attending the “Unwrapped” and “A Novel Event” fund-raisers to raise money for the organization, as well as donate to book drives and other events. You can hear SHARP Literacy President and CEO Lynda Kohler-Welsh talk about the organization and support from Hupy and Abraham on our “Tell Them You Mean Business” podcast here or you can listen on your favorite streaming platform. Hupy and Abraham is proud to continue support for SHARP Literacy and their important work.
