The Neighborhood House of Milwaukee held its 34th Annual Gala on November 14, 2024, at Discovery World. The proceeds of this event go toward early childcare, programs for teens, community educational activities and much more. Hupy and Abraham has been a proud sponsor of the Neighborhood House for over 10 years.
A silent auction kicked off the event filled with fun items and activities to do around the Milwaukee area. Mark Baden, chief meteorologist at WISN-12, emceed the gala and the executive director of Neighborhood House, Jon Janowski, started the program off by welcoming everyone. After dinner, the president of the Greater Milwaukee Committee, Joel Brennan, spoke and was followed by a touching tribute to Cynthis Zarazua, who was a member of the Neighborhood House of Milwaukee’s International Learning Program community. Cynthia was a teacher and manager for 12 years before she sadly passed away.
After bidding for donations, the night ended with an awards ceremony. Ellament Tatum is a 17-year-old who is an interpretive naturalist lead at Neighborhood House of Milwaukee and recipient of the Reinhart Scholarship. The Ray Richardson Award presented by Ray’s son, Ed Richardson, and Board President Monica Genz honored Don and Judy Shane.
