The personal injury law firm of Hupy and Abraham sponsored the Milwaukee Urban League’s “54th Annual Equal Opportunity Day Luncheon,” which took place on Nov. 21, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. As a “Table Sponsor,” members of the Hupy and Abraham staff enjoyed an impressive lunch and awards program.

Milwaukee Urban League Board Treasurer Chantel Byrd served as the mistress of ceremonies while the Harley-Davidson Motor Company and Jacqueline Herd-Barber were honored in the program. Harley-Davidson received the “Spirit of Diversity Award” for providing high-level job opportunities to minorities and Jacqueline Herd-Barber won the “Time Warner Cable Unity Award” for her outstanding community service.

UW-Milwaukee Vice Chancellor and United Nations Ambassador Dr. Joan Prince introduced the keynote speaker, Paula Williams Madison, and described her as “gracious and authentic.” Madison, who overcame childhood poverty before succeeding in the investment world, talked about economic independence and emphasized the value of education.

The Milwaukee-based firm of Hupy and Abraham has continuously supported organizations like the Milwaukee Urban League, who strive for social equality. In 2008, the firm helped the Milwaukee Urban League raise over $250,000 and has also donated over $100,000 to NAACP Scholarship Fund.
