On November 2, 2026, Hupy and Abraham, S.C. and Attorney Michael Hupy proudly sponsored the 22 Push-Up Challenge at Milwaukee City Hall, joining local leaders, veterans and community members to raise awareness about veteran mental health and suicide prevention.
Milwaukee is the only city in the United States to officially recognize November as Veterans Mental Health and Suicide Awareness Month. The Milwaukee 22 Push-Up Challenge brings attention to the mental health challenges faced by veterans, with its name referencing the commonly cited statistic of 22 veteran suicide deaths per day.
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, more than 6,000 veterans have died by suicide nationwide each year since 2001. In Wisconsin, veterans make up less than 6% of the state's population but account for approximately 15% of adult suicide deaths. These statistics highlight the importance of raising awareness, reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and encouraging veterans to seek the support and resources they deserve.
Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson attended the event and delivered remarks emphasizing the importance of supporting those who have served our country and addressing mental health challenges within the veteran community. The event served as a powerful reminder that community involvement, open conversations and access to mental health resources can make a meaningful difference in veterans' lives.
Hupy and Abraham and Attorney Michael Hupy is honored to stand alongside veterans, local leaders and community organizations in supporting this important cause. Guided by the firm's commitment to "doing well by doing good," Hupy and Abraham remains dedicated to giving back to the communities it serves and supporting initiatives that make a positive impact.
Through its sponsorship of the 22 Push-Up Challenge, the firm hopes to help amplify the conversation surrounding veterans' mental health and reinforce an important message: No veteran should have to face their struggles alone.
