Approximately 1 of every 8 women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer, according to information provided by breastcancer.org, and it is estimated that 40,000 women died of this disease in 2014. Hupy and Abraham is committed to raising awareness and research money for breast cancer so that fewer women will suffer from this condition in the future.

Here’s Some of What We’ve Done

  • Lee Denim Day
Year after year, Hupy and Abraham employees personally donate to the American Cancer Society in support of "Lee National Denim Day." Employees are permitted to wear jeans to work in exchange for a donation to support the American Cancer Society's breast cancer programs and services. In the last 20 years, the initiative has become one of the largest single-day fundraisers for breast cancer – raising more than $93 million to date.
  • Poker Runs
The firm supports many poker runs annually, some of which directly benefit breast cancer. The firm has been a proud supporter of "Debbie’s Breast Cancer Poker Run," "Breast Fest," "Ride for the Girls" and many others.. Attorney Jason Abraham has served as board member and President of "Ridin' to a Cure," an event that has raised $4.3 million through the years.
  • Walks/Runs
Throughout the year, the firm’s employees participate in various runs and walks to raise funds for research to find a cure. Employees see this as another opportunity to continue the fight and get to the ultimate finish line: a world without breast cancer.
  • Fashion Shows
The firm is a proud supporter of fundraiser fashion shows such as "Fight Like A Girl Breast Cancer Fashion Show" and the annual "Pinktacular" event put on by the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse. These are just a few events honoring survivors and supporting breast cancer research.
  • Shoot Down Cancer with the Milwaukee Bucks
In 2016, Hupy and Abraham partnered with the American Cancer Society, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Milwaukee community for a unique baseketball shooting event that raised funds for cancer research.
  • Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse
Hupy and Abraham's support has enabled the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse to provide more than $5 million to the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. These funds are so crucial because obtaining a grant from the National Institute of Health has become so difficult. In 2004, Attorney Hupy provided the house that was used for the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse.
  • Wanda L. Martin Breast Cancer Memorial Fund
Hupy and Abraham sponsored the 'Evening of Hope and Celebration" event, which raised donations to support breast cancer survivors and those that will have a chance at survivorship by way of education, awareness and early detection.
  • University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center
With the help of the Hupy and Abraham, the university can help find a cure for breast cancer and help save lives. The UWCCC is recognized throughout the Midwest and the nation as one of the leading innovators in cancer research, quality patient care and active community involvement. UWCCC is the only comprehensive care center designated by the National Cancer Institute in Wisconsin. Every day on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, more than 2,300 dedicated individuals and students work together to find the best ways to detect, prevent, diagnose and treat different forms of cancer.
