Contact the Rockford Police Department After an Accident
The immediate aftermath of a motor vehicle crash is often overwhelming. You may not know what to do after an accident.
One of the first things you can do is to contact the Rockford Police by calling 911 in an emergency. For example, you might call 911 if someone is hurt or if you are in a location where a second accident is likely. In a non-emergency situation, you can request that a Rockford officer come to the accident scene by calling 815-966-2900.
The police can make sure that everyone who needs emergency medical help gets it, direct traffic and prevent subsequent crashes at the accident scene, and investigate the cause of your crash. After the collision, you can request a copy of your police report, which may be useful in your car accident case.
