With the current war in the country, riders from around the world are making their voices heard and doing all they can to help support people in Ukraine. Members of HOG, which stands for Harley Owners Group, from across the globe are working to raise money to help refugees and support the Ukrainian military. Some of those HOG members are from Wisconsin.
HOG groups are in many countries around the world, including Ukraine. With the current conflict in the county, Ukrainian HOG members that should be enjoying riding are now fighting for their and their families’ lives. After hearing the pleas of those in Ukraine, Harley riders have been stepping up to help those in need. HOG members from the surrounding countries in Ukraine have been gathering supplies for the military including helmets, tactical gear and radios. Support isn’t only coming from HOG groups close to Ukraine. During a recent videoconferencing call with riders in Ukraine, a local Wisconsin HOG chapter was touched by their stories and decided they would offer their help.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, members of the Northwest Milwaukee HOG Chapter told Ukrainian HOG members that they would do anything they can to help their cause, whether it be by raising money, spreading awareness or donating supplies. Some of the group member’s families are stepping up as well, creating wooden sculptures and selling them to give all the profits to relief efforts. HOG groups, both local and worldwide, say they will continue to help by giving their monetary support, supplies and even going as far as to help with evacuations.
