For years, Wisconsin residents have been able to use the state’s No-Call List as a tool to eliminate unwanted telemarketing calls. Upcoming changes to the procedures will make it even easier for people to join and remain on the list.
In previous years, residents who wanted to join the No-Call List had to wait, after registering, until the following quarter to actually be added to the list. Starting in August, residents will be added the very next day after they sign up.
Furthermore, once you sign up for the No-Call List, you will no longer have to renew every two years. You’re on the list as long as you have the phone number you registered. You can register both your home and cellular phones to block unwanted telemarketing phone calls and text messages.
Changes are taking place because the registration is combining with the Federal Trade Commission’s nationwide list. To add your number to the list call 1-888-382-1222.
