On November 21, 2005, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett joined Michael F. Hupy & Associates, in giving away Thanksgiving dinner baskets to area residents. The Hupy Law Firm donated 100 baskets to area residents who, without our firm's support, would have not been able to afford a Thanksgiving dinner. Each basket included a 13 - 14 pound turkey, bag of stuffing, bag of potatoes, dinner rolls, several cans of veggies, corn meal mix, package of dinner rolls, gravy, several boxes of macaroni and cheese, and a cake for desert. As each basket feeds 7 - 10 individuals, the program provided a Thanksgiving meals for 700 - 1,000 area residents.

While interviewed for an area newscast, Mayor Barrett stated that our community is fortunate to have organizations like the Hupy Law Firm willing to give back to the community. Additionally, the Mayor called on other organizations to follow our firm’s lead in giving back to the community. He stressed that this is an especially difficult holiday season for the less fortunate, with the high price of gas and heating oil.

This year marked the tenth anniversary of the Hupy Law Firm Thanksgiving Basket Program. This Thanksgiving we also donated $2500 to the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee and $2500 to the Second Harvest Food Bank. The Thanksgiving basket program is an example of Michael F. Hupy & Associates’ tradition of giving back to the Community. The Hupy Law Firm also donates food baskets around the Christmas Holiday through the Second Harvest Food Bank, and gives scholarships to deserving Milwaukee youth, among dozens of other community projects.
