Milwaukee has faced a devastating surge of violence in recent days, with five people killed and at least 17 shootings reported across the city. The loss of life underscores a deepening crisis that continues to shake neighborhoods and devastate families.
In response, Attorney Michael Hupy, president of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, is taking decisive action. A longtime advocate for community safety, Hupy has consistently championed initiatives to reduce violence and protect Milwaukee residents.
Under his leadership, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers provides a safe, anonymous platform for citizens to share information about criminal activity. To further encourage participation, Hupy has personally pledged $100,000 in rewards through the end of the year for tips leading to the arrest of violent offenders.
“We cannot sit idly by as lives are senselessly taken,” said Hupy. “Every citizen deserves to feel safe, and every victim deserves justice. By offering these rewards, I hope more people will come forward with the information needed to hold criminals accountable.”
Hupy emphasized that the fight against violence requires collaboration between residents and law enforcement. By leveraging his platform and personal resources, he hopes to break the cycle of silence that often shields violent offenders. His leadership sends a clear message: Milwaukee’s safety depends on collective action.
A Call for Justice: The Case of Shaun Dorsey
Among the many unresolved cases weighing heavily on the community is the killing of 16-year-old Shaun Dorsey, who was shot and killed in Milwaukee in 2020. Shaun, a talented athlete and beloved son, was standing outside near his home when gunfire erupted—an innocent life lost to senseless violence. His family continues to grieve while searching for answers and accountability.
In an effort to bring closure and justice, Attorney Hupy has offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for Shaun’s death. The case remains open, and investigators urge anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward anonymously through Milwaukee Crime Stoppers.
“Someone out there knows what happened,” Hupy said. “Justice for Shaun means justice for every family living in fear. It’s time to speak up.”
