Dear Hupy and Abraham,
It’s hard to believe we’re already in July, but time sure flies when you’re having this much fun and a proper thank you for your support of this year’s Big Event is in order.
We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge that it truly was because of your altruistic support and generosity that The Big Event was a resounding success! This special event was the culmination of a true team effort and netted over $87,000! Included in that total is $46, 000 for our 2015 Fund-A-Wish campaign, “Pathways to Discovery: Expanding Access to Nature”, which will provide subsidized access to environmental education programs for up to 10 youth groups and schools in our area as well as funds to install a new Bird Banding Station, and purchase a much needed 15 passenger van.
This year 277 members and guests renewed friendships, enjoyed delicious food and beverages and bid on over 120 auction and raffle items. Proceeds support the Discovery Center’s mission – to enrich lives and inspire an ethic of care for our Northwoods through the facilitation of connections among nature, people and community.
We’ve heard many positive comments about the evening from our guests – thank you for all you did to contribute to the evening’s success and to our guest’s positive experiences. We look forward to continued improvements, but will remain true to the essence of the event, which is: a gathering with wonderful people that share a love for the Northwoods, great food and drink, plus exciting auction packages in a Northwoods setting that cannot be beat!
