swimming safety tips

While you are enjoying your summer in the water, it is important to remember the risks that come with it.

Hupy and Abraham wants to ensure that swimming remains fun and safe for you this summer. Here are tips to help prevent tragedy.

  1. Pay close and constant attention to children. You want to ensure that there is always active adult supervision while children are in the pool. Teach your children to know not to swim without an adult around watching them.

  2. Stay within reach of weaker swimmers. Water wings and inflatables do not take the place of an adult. If you know a child isn’t a strong swimmer, stay near them in the pool.

  3. Avoid diving into pools. You might not know the depth of the water, and this can lead to you hitting your head and becoming unconscious.

  4. Follow all the rules at the pool. No running is a rule at the pool. This prevents slip-and-fall accidents from happening. Also, never chew gum while at the pool, as it is a choking hazard.

  5. Learn CPR and keep a first aid kit handy. If the worse possible scenario occurs and someone is drowning, know how to save that person. You can become CPR certified through online courses.

By following these tips, Hupy and Abraham is confident that you and your family will have a fun and safe summer.
