Custom motorcycles are displayed at the Mama Tried Show in Milwaukee, WI.

Even though it’s not riding season and most motorcycle riders are off the road in the winter, there are still quite a few events going on that would interest motorcyclists. From group gatherings to motorcycle shows and races, there’s something for everyone in the motorcycle community, their families and friends to check out.

Here are some upcoming 2024 Midwest winter events that every motorcyclist needs to attend:

ABATE of Wisconsin Lobby Day (February 22) – ABATE of Wisconsin is a group that fights for motorcyclist rights and helps public voices be heard in government settings. ABATE's annual Lobby Day event happens at the Wisconsin State Capitol building in Madison, WI, where riders from across the state gather and talk to legislators about current laws and concerns that affect motorcyclists in Wisconsin and even throughout the country. With sponsorship from Hupy and Abraham, who has supported ABATE for decades, buses from all around the state give free rides to Madison for anyone who needs one. Everyone is welcome to join, whether you’re an ABATE of Wisconsin member or not. You can even join the organization at the event. Learn more about Lobby Day at abatewis.org or check out our Behind the Handlebars video series coverage of past year’s events here.

Mama Tried Motorcycle Show (February 24 and 25) – Taking place at The Rave/Eagles Club in Milwaukee, this bike show features custom motorcycles from moto builders across the world. You’ll of course find Harleys along with off-road bikes, scooters, minibikes and everything else under the sun. Hupy and Abraham will have a booth at the event handing out free “Watch for Motorcycles” swag, so be sure to check it out. Several Mama Tried celebrations and parties also take place throughout the city at places such as the Harley-Davidson Museum. Accompanying the motorcycle show, Flat Out Friday indoor motorcycle races at Fiserv Forum also coincide with the event. Riders from all around the globe compete in indoor flat track racing on a concrete track coated with Dr Pepper syrup. Don’t miss this exciting event!

Quad Cities Regional Auto Show (March 1 through 3) – This show takes place in the Quad Cities, Iowa, at BEND XPO Center and is great for the entire family. While focusing on mostly automobiles, it’s a great place for any motorsport enthusiast. You may even find some great bikes scattered within the display area. Stop by the Hupy and Abraham booth at the event to get some awesome free giveaway items and learn more about the firm.

World of Wheels Chicago (March 8 through 10) – Part hot rod car show and part custom bike show, this is a fun event to attend for motorcyclists. World of Wheels takes place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, where tens of thousands of people gather to see the latest in custom motorcycles, hot rods and more. Hosting several competitions for builders, it’s a great place to see the best of the best in both cars and motorcycles. This show is so big that you may need a couple of days to see it all! Keep an eye out for Hupy and Abraham’s “Watch for Motorcycles” message at this event and you might score yourself some free gear!
