On a cold December day in 2009, Hupy and Abraham, S.C.’s client was driving southbound on Pleasant View Road in Plymouth, Wis. As she slowed down to turn left onto Kiley Way, she was injured in a low velocity, rear-end accident.
Damages to her car amounted to less than $700 and the insurance company offered $3,000 to settle the case. However, the client needed shoulder surgery, but the insurance company argued that a low speed collision could not have caused such an injury.
At mediation, the insurance company’s $60,000 offer was also rejected and Attorney Robert Domol secured a $100,000 without going to trial. The result was 30 times the original offer.
