Dear Hupy and Abraham,

Thank you for sponsoring the 18th annual Dr. Martin Luther King celebration breakfast. Your generous sponsorship helped bring together diverse members of our community to celebrate the legacy of a great leader committed to equality for all members of our society. It was a joy to host this important event for nearly 600 people including our governor, mayor, and fourteen other elected officials. What a gift to see so many community members come together in tribute and celebration.

It was a privilege to bestow the Milwaukee YMCA Healthy Citizenship Award to the Childhood Obesity Prevention Program directed in partnership between the United Community Centers of Milwaukee and the Medical College of Wisconsin. Further, it was an honor to recognize the Sixteenth Street Heath Center for the Potawatomi Diversity and Inclusion Award. The work of these two award recipients beautifully demonstrate the power of partnership – and the lasting impact that in can have.

Here at the New Milwaukee Y, our vision is to create a stronger, healthier Milwaukee where families of all incomes and background truly thrive. One signature aspect of the New Milwaukee Y will be to meet community needs through the strategic cultivation of committed partnerships which will foster a culture of health for families and communities.

Once again, thanks to Hupy and Abraham for playing such a key role in this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King celebration. Your support helped make this event possible and reminded our community that together – we all have an important role to play in the community that we all call home. Thank you for this.

Sincerely,
