On November 14, 2013, the personal injury law firm of Hupy and Abraham sponsored Neighborhood House of Milwaukee’s “Annual Celebration” fundraiser. The event was held at Discovery World and featured a reception, silent auction, and dinner in addition to the program.

Mark Katz, Neighborhood House board member, welcomed everybody to the event and spiritual healing practitioner Jojopahmaria Nsoroma delivered the invocation.
During the program, Neighborhood House gave out its annual awards and honored the recipients. The Marquette University Service Learning Program won the “Ray Richardson Award” in recognition of their students volunteering as tutors at the International Learning Center. The award is named in honor of their former Executive Director.
Evan Blade received the “Ray Woods Youth Award,” a scholarship named after a deceased Neighborhood House alumnus, and he is currently applying to art schools for next year. A piece of his artwork was auctioned off for $1,200 to benefit Neighborhood House.
The event raises over $150,000 annually and the goal was to raise $40,000 in cash donations. However, only $20,000 was raised in live pledges so Neighborhood House still needs additional financial support.
Since 1945, Neighborhood House has helped hundreds of thousands of people who live in Milwaukee’s most impoverished areas. By providing resources and teaching valuable life skills, they have helped countless children, adults and even refugees.
By supporting worthy causes like Neighborhood House, Hupy and Abraham has continued to give back to people who need it most. The Milwaukee-based law firm has always been committed to helping the community that made it successful.
