A press conference held on Monday, April 27, at Howard Fuller Academy marked the official kickoff of Victory Over Violence Week, an initiative focused on empowering youth and strengthening communities.
Hupy and Abraham proudly returned as a sponsor of this impactful event, continuing its commitment to supporting programs that uplift and protect young people. During the conference, Chief of Police Gregory Norman challenged the narrative that “all kids are going wrong,” emphasizing instead that today’s challenges require thoughtful, multifaceted solutions.
“We need complex solutions to complex problems,” Chief Norman stated, underscoring the importance of collaboration across the community.
He also personally thanked Attorney Michael Hupy for his ongoing support of Youth Victory Over Violence, recognizing Hupy and Abraham’s role in helping make these initiatives possible.
“With everyone working together, we can decrease crime. Take a stand,” he added.
Attorney Michael Hupy echoed that message of unity and action, stating, “Supporting our youth means investing in safer communities for everyone. When we come together to guide, educate, and uplift young people, we create lasting change.”
Victory Over Violence Week will feature a variety of workshops and events centered on prevention, wellness, and peace. Programming includes sessions on anti-bullying, self-defense, violence prevention, and substance abuse awareness. The week will also bring the community together through a Town Hall meeting and a Peace Walk to Victory Over Violence Park.
At its core, the initiative is about transformation—of communities, neighborhoods, and individuals alike. It serves as a powerful reminder that everyone plays a role in shaping the future.
We all have a hand in impacting our youth—and together, we can make a difference.
