Hupy and Abraham Make A Wish Foundation

On Friday, September 7, Make-A-Wish Wisconsin held the inaugural “Wear White for Wishes” event at Harley-Davidson Museum’s Chrome. The event was hosted by the Young Wishmakers of Wisconsin and sought to raise funds to send a 2 ½-year-old named Enoch to Walt Disney World Resort. Hupy and Abraham was the “Step and Repeat” sponsor and provided a photo booth area for attendees to visit and pose at. Guests of “Wear White for Wishes” were also able to enjoy a variety of food and entertainment options, in addition to participating in a silent auction and other fundraising measures.

Patti Gorsky, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, and Mary Roper, president of Young Wishmakers of Wisconsin, both gave remarks to the crowd and shared the achievements that the organization has made.

Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, which granted its 6,500th wish this year, has the mission and goal to grant the highest quality wishes to medically eligible children and to have the necessary resources available to achieve that goal. The Young Wishmakers of Wisconsin is comprised of young professionals with diverse interests and backgrounds that came together in order to help the community thrive. Hupy and Abraham, S.C.’s Human Resources Coordinator Samantha Carpenter and Lead Settlement Specialist Nicole Hoadley were recently inducted into the Young Wishmakers of Wisconsin, and will also act as a liaison between the firm and the group.

Both presidents also emphasized how a granted wish helps change the lives of those with chronic illnesses and lets their families gain strength they need to heal. Hupy and Abraham was one of the sponsors thanked at the event, along with the recognition of 600 volunteers that help make Make-A-Wish’s goal possible.

Enoch’s mother, took time to share the story of her family and son, and gave the poignant remark, “Making memories becomes something of an obsession when you don’t know how much time you have.” Hupy and Abraham is proud to support an organization like Make-A-Wish Wisconsin that will allow for Enoch’s family to continue to create memorable moments. The firm has worked with Make-A-Wish in a number of ways, including funding individual wishes as a company, participating in fundraising walks and assisting the “Yacht Blast for Kids” event.
