June 20, 2019, had legal nonprofit Centro Legal hosting their annual “Centro LeGala” fundraising event at Discovery World in Milwaukee. As a sponsor, Hupy and Abraham was represented by Shareholder Todd Korb and other firm employees attending.
Centro Legal’s efforts empower individuals in transition. The nonprofit law firm is able to provide free or nearly free legal services to those in need. Centro Legal also supports individuals by providing legal guidance or representation to overcome legal hurdles that they may face. “LeGala” guests participated in silent and live auctions, as well as an appeal for additional support.
Molly Dobberke Riehle, Centro Legal’s new Executive Director, shared remarks about the past year and what feats the organization achieved. Each year, Centro Legal serves more than 2,000 people and resolves over 600 cases a year. The nonprofit specializes in family law and domestic violence cases.
Her speech included an explanation of the process Centro Legal’s clients may experience while trying to escape their dangerous situations. “LeGala” guests were able to glimpse this complicated ordeal the individuals and families navigated while remaining in a vulnerable life position.
A video highlighting a local woman’s attempts at escaping a domestic violence situation, while eight months pregnant was shown. Her interactions with Centro Legal allowed her to untangle and bring back order to her life.
Organizations like Centro Legal strive to bring stabilization to people, allowing them to create strong connections that result in a sturdier community. Hupy and Abraham has been a longtime supporter of Centro Legal and its mission for the past several years.
