Our client, a motorcyclist was injured when a police officer pulled out in front of his path from a stop sign. He suffered fractured vertebrae, a head injury, and multiple abrasions. An accident reconstructionist for the police department found the motorcyclist to be going about 19 mph over the 30 mph speed limit.
The insurance company initially offered $70,000. Hupy and Abraham hired their own accident reconstructionist to counter the police reconstruction and ultimately was able to get the insurance company to pay $200,000 to settle the claim.
