Attorney Michael Hupy, inaugural president of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, is proud of a recent result that will bring one homicide victim’s family some closure after a horrific cold-blooded murder. Milwaukee Crime Stoppers launched in October 2019 and has successfully help solve almost 10 cases.
In November 2019, a Milwaukee man was killed execution style after an argument at Waz’s Bar. Despite being at a crowded establishment in broad daylight, the homicide still needed to be solved.
Typically, when a Crime Stoppers informant gives results that lead to an arrest, they are given up to $1,000. This particular instance had a supplemental donation, which established an $8,000 reward fund for the case. Fortunately, due to the successful tips by anonymous callers, the Milwaukee Police Department and other law enforcement agencies arrested the shooter.
Milwaukee Crime Stoppers is dedicated to combating crime and rewarding witnesses who come forward. A secure and untraceable hotline protects tippers’ identities from everyone, including the authorities and local law enforcement. The tipster remains anonymous even when they receive their reward. You can contact the organization at 414-224-TIPS if you have any information regarding a crime or criminal activity. Remember, all submitted tips are anonymous and are eligible to receive up to a $1,000 reward.
The mission of Crime Stoppers is to prevent crime by letting people know they can be arrested without ever knowing who contacted the authorities.
