Motorcycles fill a parking lot at a Harley-Davidson dealership during the Milwaukee Rally

Every five years, Harley-Davidson holds a giant event throughout the Milwaukee area to commemorate their milestone anniversaries. This year marks Harley’s 120th anniversary and a huge event is planned to take place in July of 2023. Normally the Hometown Rally, which was known as the Milwaukee Rally in the past, would take place over Labor Day weekend at the Harley dealerships across the Milwaukee area. On major anniversary years like 2023, the event is moved to the middle of the summer and takes place at dealerships, the Harley-Davidson Museum, Veterans Park and many other places. This event is called the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival.

Let’s look at what you can expect at this year's extravaganza.

During the 120th anniversary, riders and families can take part in many different events across the city of Milwaukee over four days, July 13 through July 16. There are several locations that attendees can plan on visiting including:

The Harley Davidson Museum

Veterans Park on the Lake Michigan Shore

Harley-Davidson Powertrain Operations on Pilgrim Road

Suburban Harley in Thiensville

Wisconsin Harley in Oconomowoc

Uke’s Harley in Kenosha

And many more!

A major announcement was made in January that two huge bands will be playing at Veterans Park on the Lake Michigan lakefront in Milwaukee. Both Foo Fighters and Green Day will be headlining the two day music festival on separate nights. These are two concerts that you won’t want to miss! Other bands playing this festival include Social Distortion, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Phantogram and KennyHoopla.

Veterans Park will also have a lot of other activities for riders, families or anyone else interested in attending. Local food vendors will be in attendance as well as other motorcycle related vendors. If the Veterans Park location is anything like anniversary events in the past, you can expect things like motorcycle stunt shows, carnival acts and surprise guests. Admission tickets will range from $99 to $355 if you want the VIP experience. Children 10 and under can get in free with an adult.

The Harley-Davidson Muesum will hold many free events throughout the weekend including concerts, boonie bike races from the organizers of Flat Out Friday and Mama Tried, custom motorcycle shows and demo rides of Harley’s electric motorcycle. The museum will also be open to everyone who buys an admission ticket.

Throughout the weekend there will also be a parade that will ride throughout the city, as well as Harley factory tours and police motorcycle skill demonstrations.

Each Harley dealership throughout the area will host events as well, with live music, food vendors and motorcycle vendors. Hupy and Abraham will be at several locations promoting our Watch for Motorcycles message and handing out free gear to everyone.
