Dear Hupy and Abraham,
Due to your bigheartedness and the generosity to the North Lakeland Discovery Center, "The Big Event" was a resounding success! We had almost 300 people enjoy the beautiful spring evening here and netted over $80,000! Included in that total is $38,000 for our "2013 Fund-A-Wish", "The E-Pod Experience," and $1,000 for a life-saving auto-defibrillator. The "E-Pod Experience" is a set of outdoor interactive elements, located throughout the Discovery Center's trails and grounds, and centered around play, learning, experience and exploration.
This year members and guests again renewed friendships, enjoyed delicious food and beverages and bid on over 150 auction and raffle items. Proceeds support the Discovery Center's mission - to enrich lives, inspire an ethic of care for our Northwoods, and to facilitate connections among people, nature and community.
We've heard nothing but positive comments about the evening from our guests. We could not have accomplished this without the help of such wonderful sponsors, and we truly appreciate your support!
