Approximately 12,500 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, making this disease the leading cause of death in children under the age of 15. Although great strides have been made in curing pediatric cancer, much work remains.

To further the goal of curing childhood cancers, Hupy and Abraham recently made a donation to the Northwestern University 30-hour Dance Marathon, benefiting pediatric cancer. Maxine Hupy, daughter of Firm President, Michael F. Hupy, participated in this year’s Dance Marathon.

The Dance Marathon, held March 7 - 9, 2008, is a culmination of a year of fundraising, volunteering, and educating by more than 1,000 Northwestern students. This year $933,855 was raised through this event, shattering last year’s total by over $200,000.

The Northwestern University Dance Marathon has been in existence for 34 years, and is one of the world’s largest student-run charities, having raised over $8 million since its inception.
