Please accept my heartfelt thanks to Hupy and Abraham, S.C. for the generous gift as a sponsor for the "Miles for Meals 2013 Run/Walk" at Veterans Park last month. This event raises funds and provides awareness of the problem of hunger in our community. "Miles for Meals" joins local runners and our partner agencies in a 5K run/2-mile walk to raise funds for individual programs such as meal programs, food pantries and soup kitchens.
I appreciate your help this year as our need for continues to increase. In the last two years, we have seen the demand for food go up by 35%. Agencies are reporting increases in the number of individuals and families who need their help. Your support of this fundraiser helps us support those in need.
