On June 21, 2014, the personal injury law firm of Hupy and Abraham, S.C. sponsored the “J.J. Watt Walk/Run” at Waukesha County Technical College. The event took place in Pewaukee because it’s the hometown of the NFL star. This year’s run/walk had a record number of participants and funds raised.
Hupy and Abraham, S.C. shareholder Todd Korb and his daughter Kylin ran the 5K race and were invited to a VIP meet and greet with Watt afterward.
“I had a tremendous time participating in the race,” said Attorney Korb. “It was a neat opportunity for Kylin and I to meet J.J. and it’s awesome that our firm is doing so much to help kids stay active.”
The event raised funds for the Justin J. Watt Foundation which is predicated on providing after-school opportunities for children to participate in athletics. Through sports, the organization teaches kids the basic character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic and perseverance.
During the race, Watt stood at the finish line high-fiving all of the participants as they completed the run. Watt also gave a speech to the large crowd and an assortment of autographed apparel and memorabilia was available in the silent auction.
