Pinktacular Breast Cancer Charity Event

The Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showhouse (WBCS) held its annual “Pinktacular Salute to Survivors” Luncheon on October 4, 2018, at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The annual event doubles as a fashion show, where survivors of breast and prostate cancer walk alongside an important person in their lives. For over 10 years, Hupy and Abraham has been a sponsor for this luncheon. Attorneys Evan Claditis and Todd Korb were in attendance.

An all-volunteer charitable-based organization, WBCS’ mission is to support breast cancer and prostate cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin. At “Salute to Survivors,” hundreds of people from around the area were able to purchase and bid on items provided by vendors as a way to raise money for WBCS.

Joyce Garbaciak from WISN 12 celebrated her being master of ceremonies for the 10th year at this event, where 11 survivors and their supporters walked the runway in Southeastern Wisconsin’s most fashionable outfits. While each survivor was showcased, their circumstances and history were shared with the audience.

Since 1998, WBCS, Inc. has invested $6.475 million in early stage, basic breast cancer and prostate cancer research. Researchers they support have secured an additional $68.9 million in external funding, bringing their total research impact to over $75 million. In addition to sponsoring this luncheon over the years, firm president Attorney Michael Hupy has donated his home for a tour-based WBCS fundraiser.
