Shooting At Milwaukee Bar Results in $50,000 Settlement

Our client was at a Milwaukee bar when he got into an argument with another patron. The other patron pulled out a gun and shot our client multiple times, even as he tried to flee. Attorney Todd Korb made a claim that the bar should have been screening guests or patting them down for weapons prior to them entering the bar.

This was a very difficult case to prove liability. It probably wouldn’t have been successful at a trial, as we would be arguing that any reasonable bar owner should be required to screen patrons for weapons before they enter a bar. There was no history of violence with the bar. The $50,000 was a very good settlement, given the difficulties.
