Our client was receiving in-home care when she was allowed to fall to the floor by her aide. Her aide then fell on top her, causing femur fractures in both legs. These injuries required surgery, long-term rehabilitation and resulted in permanent disablement.
The insurance company representing the in-home care agency initially offered $150,000, arguing that our client's pre-existing condition contributed to her mobility problems. After intense negotiations, the case settled for $525,000.
