Recent Wisconsin floods have hit hard in communities like Jefferson,
Wisconsin Dells and Fort Atkinson. These severe storms caused
Interstate 94, between Milwaukee and Madison, to be closed for a period
of time. The American Red Cross recently announced that its Domestic Disaster Relief Fund has reached zero and it is being forced to borrow money to help the Midwestern flood victims. The lack of large scale disasters that bring donations to the Red Cross has left it without the money needed to compensate for the rapid depletion of funds. So far, the Midwest flood response has cost approximately $15 million, with an anticipated total of $40 million. To date, a total of $2.3 million has been donated to aid Midwestern flood victims.
It is time to take action and donate to the cause! Hupy and Abraham, S.C. has made a donation to the Red Cross’ Disaster Relief Fund. American Red Cross disaster assistance is free and made possible by donations of time and money. You can help the victims of disasters like the Wisconsin flooding by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Monetary donations allow the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster. The Red Cross is currently sending trained volunteers to disaster sites.
