Multiple Vehicle Accident in Vernon Hills Injures Three

Posted on Oct 23, 2010

Three cars and one pickup truck were involved in a serious accident near North Milwaukee Avenue and East Townline Road (Route 60) in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

According to first responders the crash occurred when one vehicle slammed into the read-end of another vehicle, causing this car to strike two cars in front of it.  Countryside Fire Protection District Officials report that four ambulances were sent to the scene of the accident, where two occupants had to be extricated from their vehicles.

The two occupants of the second vehicle, the first car that was hit, were taken to Advocate Condell in serious condition.  The driver of the third vehicle was taken to Lake Forest Hospital, treated, and released.  The man who police say caused the accident was treated for his injuries at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

Police have charged the driver of the first vehicle with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Speed is a contributing factor in many of the injurious and deadly crashes across the country.  Driving too fast for conditions is especially dangerous in Wisconsin and Illinois, where our long winters and wet springs too often make for slippery driving conditions.

The staff and attorneys at Hupy & Abraham hope that all of the injured parties are well on their way to making a full and complete recovery.
