April 15, 2011 - Milwaukee, WI - An April 7 evening crash sent a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy to the hospital with injuries following his response to a traffic backup in a construction area.
WISN Milwaukee reports the accident occurred on I-94 near Holt Avenue where ongoing construction has caused traffic complications. The deputy was responding to a traffic backup when the vehicle he was traveling in was struck by another car. This caused additional congestion as emergency response attended to the accident.
The deputy was transported to nearby Froedert Hospital to be evaluated for his injuries. His condition was not released to the public. Meanwhile, authorities are investigating the incident. The driver that hit the deputy has not been named and authorities are investigating for possible drunk driving.
