On an April day, our client and her husband stopped at a gas station/McDonald’s in Northeastern Wisconsin. While her husband pumped gas, our client decided to use the restroom. As she walked into the bathroom, she slipped and fell on some water that was on the floor. The fall caused an injury to her wrist.
An investigation revealed that an employee had recently cleaned and mopped the bathroom. The defendant claimed that a wet floor sign was in place and visible. No offer was initially made by the defendant’s insurance company. Attorney Perlberg placed the case into suit and was able to obtain a surveillance video that showed the wet floor sign was under a sink and very difficult to see. Within days of this video becoming evidence, the insurance company elected to settle the case for more than $30,000.
