Early on the morning of Monday, March 19, a Minnesota man tragically lost his life as the result of a Wisconsin motorcycle accident. Scott J. Garavalia, a resident of St. Elmo, Minnesota, was riding his motorcycle through western Wisconsin at the time of the fatal accident.
It was while riding in the town of Richmond that 39-year-old Garavalia’s 2010 Kawasaki motorcycle went off the road and into a ditch, according to the report from the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office. The accident took place on County Highway A, which is near to County Highway G in Richmond. Garavalia was heading north on Highway A at the time of the accident.
As Scott Garavalia’s bike left the road, he was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in a nearby field. By the time the police responded to the accident at around seven o’clock in the morning, Garavalia had already succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Garavalia’s tragic passing marks the third traffic-related death in 2012 for St. Croix County. According to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, Garavalia was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Authorities are still investigating the incident. They ask anybody who may have information about the accident or where Garavalia was prior to the crash to call investigator Brent Standaert at 715-381-4390.
