Hupy and Abraham, S.C. for the third year in a row is sponsoring buses to take bikers from southeast Wisconsin to Madison, the state's capitol. These bikers will be joined by other bikers from around the state who will visit law makers and discuss ABATE's legislative agenda for 2011. Attorney Michael Hupy, besides sponsoring some buses, also participates in the lobby effort and leads a group discussion with several Milwaukee area law makers. Hupy and Abraham, S.C. has participated in and sponsored Lobby Day for a number of years as part of its commitment to the motorcycle community in Wisconsin. The law firm is also sponsoring dinner at ABATE's Officer Training program, January 14-15, and Region 1A's Riding Out Winter Party, February 5, 2011.
The major issues for discussion at Lobby Day will include changing the right of way violation bill, Act 466, to ensure that proper and fair application of the law is being done. If you haven't attended Lobby Day in the past, you should consider contacting ABATE (non-members are welcome) to secure a seat on a bus or come on your own and check in at the information center at the Inn on the Park, Madison, Wisconsin. The Registration and Information Center is at Inn on the Park on the Capitol Square. For those driving in on their own, free local parking is available at the CC Riders Clubhouse with free shuttle buses traveling to the Capitol every half hour. The CC Riders are located one block east of East Washington Ave at Lien Road. Turn right on Parkside Drive, a dead-end road) and the club house is on the left. ABATE of Wisconsin will be contracting buses from all areas of the state to provide free rides to the event. No experience necessary.
You must register at Inn on the Park and pick up a packet of speaking points. You can go on your own, but it is suggested you tag along with a group that is seeing your Assembly person or Senator. If you don't know who that is, ABATE will help you locate your state representative.
