E-15 Gas May Harm Motorcycle Engines

The motorcycle community has been consistent in voicing concerns over the use of E-15 blend gasoline. Claims of poor efficiency, hot running motors, bad fuel economy and damage to engines top the complaints list.

The EPA claims the E-15 blend will not harm small engines or performance motors found on motorcycles, pointing to one study only. Congressman James Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin wants more comprehensive studies done before subjecting the public to this new gasoline blend. He has introduced H.R. 3199, which calls for more research to be done. The American Motorcyclists Association supports this legislation and urges motorcyclists and others to contact their federal legislators to ask them to support H.R. 3199.
