Buell Coming Back to Street Bike Production

Eric Buell is one of those rare individuals with an inner drive and knowledge of self. He's a racer with mechanical expertise. He's an engineer with an understanding of marketing. He likes to tinker as a form of relaxation, and music is his second passion. You can't help but admire and like him if you have had the pleasure of meeting him. He's not pretentious or self-absorbed although he is self-assured. He had a vison of building an American sport bike that could compete with European and Asian bikes and he proved he could do just that.

The recession has hit the motorcycle market hard and Harley-Davidson let the Buell brand go. Erik Buell is making his comeback and hopes to have a street bike version of his 1190RS ready in the spring.  Buell has taken a new direction this year and is working with S&S Cycles of Viola, Wisconsin on developing the new street bike. It will be interesting in seeing what Buell comes up with to power the 1190RS.

We wish Eric the best of luck in his new venture and it will be great to see the new Buell motorcycle line on the street again as well as on the track.
