In early December 2007, a Lake County Community Service Officer was directing traffic outside a high school near Waukegan, Illinois, when a car ran over her heel. The defendant denied hitting the officer and further claimed that the officer walked backwards into her car. The insurance company denied our client's claim, offering no compensation for her injuries.
Hupy and Abraham in Gurnee did not accept the insurance company’s denial or the defendant’s implausible version of events and filed a lawsuit. While litigation of the case was ongoing, Attorney Vito J. Manicioto got the insurance company to reverse their denial of the claim. The insurance company ultimately settled the case for $39,000, fairly compensating the officer for her injuries.
