After being rebuffed entirely by the insurance company, Hupy and Abraham secured an $80,000 settlement at mediation for an injured client.

The client, a physical therapist on a house call, was walking down the stairs of the home as the staircase detached from the building. As a result, he suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder that required surgery.

Despite previously visiting the home on multiple occasions, the client had never seen or heard any indication that the staircase was unstable. But since no one had ever reported any problems with the staircase, the building owner's insurance company claimed they were not negligent.

After litigation, Hupy and Abraham attorney Todd Korb negotiated with the insurance company and they agreed to pay $80,000 to settle the case.
