Traveling in snowy or icy conditions can be very dangerous.

Following these tips will help you get to your destination safety.

1. Don’t drive if you don’t have to.

If you don’t have to travel, stay off the roads. You shouldn’t put yourself in danger if driving in hazardous winter weather is not necessary.

2. Check your vehicle.

Make sure your tires are properly inflated, your gas tank is near full and your windshield wash fluid is topped off. Keep winter safety items in your car in case you become stranded.

3. Drive slowly.

Icy or snow-covered surfaces will make it harder for you to control your vehicle. Driving slowly and keeping more distance between other vehicles will give you more time to maneuver, if needed.

4. Pay attention.

Don’t let things like using your phone or eating while driving take your attention from the road.

5. Use your lights.

Make sure all the lights on your vehicle are working. Keep your headlights on while driving for better visibility.

Stay safe and drive responsibly.
