Thank you for helping make the 2019 Black Excellence Awards, presented by the Milwaukee Times Weekly Newspaper, one of the most successful in the 34-year history of the event. Due in large part of the support of our business, community and advertising partners we were again able to sell every ticket and provide our honorees, guests and scholarship recipients with a wonderful experience.

The generous support of Hupy and Abraham, S.C. was a vital part of the success of the event this year and we wanted to thank you for participating. Your support helped enable the Black Excellence Awards to make a substantial contribution toward providing the next generation of Milwaukee residents with the educational tools they will need to succeed.

The Milwaukee Times Weekly Newspaper established the Black Excellence Award program in 1985 and under its stewardship it has grown to become one of the city’s largest annual social events. Each year it seeks to celebrate, honor and pay tribute to dozens of outstanding people within the city of Milwaukee. These individuals have worked to create an environment which makes this city the wonderful place it is to live and be productive citizens. In addition, through the Louvenia Johnson Scholarship Fund, Inc. the Black Excellence Awards have provided more than a total of more than $500,000 In scholarship funding for dserving Milwaukee high school seniors.
