Logo of Law enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics thanking Hupy and Abraham

Dear Hupy and Abraham,

Thank you for your recent donation in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois (SOILL). Your generous contribution helps provide year-round training and competition for over 22,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and more than 20,000 Young Athletes and Peer Partners (ages 2-7) with and without intellectual disabilities in Illinois.

2016 proved to be a milestone year for the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run, as more than $4 million was raised for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois for the first time in our state’s history! Reaching this goal allows even more athletes to enjoy the transformative power of sport and the Special Olympics experience.

This year’s Torch Run will take place June 4-9 across the state. Nearly 3,000 officers will carry the Flame of Hope 1,500 miles for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. While the fundraising and special events will continue until the end of the year, the actual run will culminate with lighting the caldron to open the 2016 Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games in Normal on June 9.

Thanks to you, these athletes inspire greatness in everyone! Thanks again for your support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run!

Sincerely,

Chief Steven Stelter & Sandy Nash
