Planning on being married in less than two months, Chris Medina and his fiancé, Juliana, were counting the days to the wedding.  However, a serious auto accident changed the course of their lives and left Juliana fighting to survive.

Doctors did not expect the young woman to survive the traumatic brain injury she sustained during the crash.  However, with her fiancé and family at her side she beat the odds and lived through the long and difficult recovery.  Juliana still suffers the effects of the head injury and is confined to a wheelchair, her mother and Medina providing the care she needs.

Their story was recently highlighted on the American Idol Milwaukee Auditions, as Medina was one of the potential singers auditioning for a spot in Hollywood.  Medina sang his rendition of the Script's "Breakeven" and all of the judges were impressed by both his voice and his story.

Medina and his fiancé are still together, despite the lasting effects of the accident.  Though some find this extraordinary, Medina doesn't see it as such.

"What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me the most?"

When the wedding does happen, you can be sure that the couple will bring special meaning to the vow of, "in sickness and in health."

The accident attorneys at Hupy & Abraham wish the couple the best in their lives together and their American Idol experience.
