High Voltage Ice Races

It was a beautiful day for a great Sunday event in Wisconsin! The first annual High Voltage Ice Races were held Sunday, January 14, and became an instant classic!

Benefiting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, the High Voltage Ice Races are a sister event to the High Voltage Vintage & Chopper Motorcycle Show in summer, which features hot rods, local music, custom bikes and great local vendors.

High Voltage Ice Races

This year, the High Voltage Ice Races brought ice racing back to Wilson Park in Milwaukee for the first time in 31 years! Taking its place as one of the two prominent ice racing events in Milwaukee (the second being Mama Tried’s Slippery Sunday), High Voltage featured classes like Expert, Vintage, Hooligan and 50 cc (7 years and under).

Spectators could watch the races in both warmth and style from Wilson Park’s two-story, enclosed pavilion, while the more daring were able to venture onto the park’s natural island in the middle of the track – an excellent vantage point to watch all the slide ways fun!

If you missed the first year of the High Voltage Wilson Park ice races, you can catch it every year in January. And to stay cozy while on the ice, don’t forget to swing by the Hupy and Abraham “Watch for Motorcycles” booth for your FREE biker buff or winter hat!
