A driver, fleeing the scene of a previous accident, caused another, more serious accident. The driver of a silver Infiniti was seen heading west on Fullerton Avenue when his car hit another car near Sacramento Blvd. at about 2:10 a.m. The driver then fled the scene, pulled a u-turn and sped back onto Fullerton Ave.
At this point the driver crashed into a taxi and a Toyota Land Cruiser. Three of the six people in the SUV were ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the taxi, his passenger and the driver of the SUV were all injured in the accident. The Infiniti, which caused all of the above accidents, became airborne after crashing into the SUV and several people were ejected from the car.
Several ambulances from around Chicago transported the injured parties to area hospitals to include: Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Norwegian-American Hospital and Saints Mary Elizabeth Medical Center. Seven of the nine injured parties were listed as seriously injured.
Police have charged the driver with failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, failure to keep in a lane and negligent driving.
The attorneys at Hupy and Abraham hope that all of the injured are well on their way to making a full recovery.
