 house during constructions

The personal injury law firm of Hupy and Abraham, S.C. is helping make a Burma couple’s dreams come true. The firm is sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity house project that will last nine to 11 months. This is the firm’s first partnership with Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity (MHFH).

At a press conference June 6, 2017, in honor of the season’s build kickoff, sponsors were thanked for their support of these families in need and the organization. MHFH builds and renovates houses for low- income families to create affordable places to live, and helps 35 to 40 families each year. Since 1984, the organization has repaired and built over 500 homes in various neighborhoods across the city of Milwaukee.

Hupy and Abraham, S.C. will be an immersive partner during the construction of this new home.  The house will be built beginning in summer 2017 and is anticipated to end in spring 2018. The soon to be new homeowners will complete over 500 hours toward the house’s building due to the partner “sweat equity” program. The “sweat equity” program acts as a down payment substitution and gives habitat families a chance to learn construction skills while getting to know their future neighbors and community. Hupy and Abraham, S.C. will have several teams of employee volunteers to assist and work alongside the family.

Hupy and Abraham, S.C. is very excited for this new endeavor, and is looking forward to help bring awareness to the importance of housing needs in Milwaukee’s community.
