The Wisconsin Breast Cancer Showcase (WBCS) is the largest annual donor for adult cancer research to the MCW Cancer Center. The cumulative gift to date from our all-volunteer organization is $5.8 million. Our funding has enabled the researchers we support to leverage our awards into an additional $45 million in competitive external funding. Last summer, Hallgeir Rui, MD, PhD, joined the MCW Cancer Center as the inaugural WBCS Endowed Chair in Basic Breast Cancer Research at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Rui is an internationally renowned breast cancer researcher. He is considered a transformational leader for the MCW breast cancer program.
