St. Patrick’s Day is Thursday, March 17, with many parades for the holiday. Festivals, public events and holiday parades can all draw massive crowds, which can be dangerous if you are not aware of your surroundings.

Identify the general layout of the event before attending and make an exit plan in case of an emergency.

Stay aware of your surroundings so you can act quickly if needed.

Charge your phone and keep it with you in case of an emergency.

Move with the crowd, zigzagging to the outside, if caught in the middle of the crowd.
