Pharmaceutical companies do a good job at disguising the flaws in their products. They make the general public believe that their products are completely safe and side effects are minimal. Unfortunately, it often takes a victim getting extremely ill—or even fatally ill—in order for the veil of lies to be removed. It is sad to think that these FDA-regulated companies can get away with causing harm to those taking their products.

Fortunately, these large pharmaceutical companies are now paying the price for the damage caused through class action lawsuits. A class action lawsuit is when a large group of people collectively bring a claim against a defendant.

There are many types of pharmaceutical products that are or should be a part of a class action case. Some of the common products that are associated with class actions are:

  • Denture cream. Many big-name denture creams have been creating serious complications for their users. This is due to the excessive zinc that is used. The toxic levels of zinc have a damaging effect on the nervous system.

  • Trasylol. Trasylol is a drug that has been linked to an increased heart attack risk as well as kidney failure. The drug was put out by Bayer to help with bleeding during a cardiac surgery.

  • Gadolinium. Compounds of this metal are components of dyes is used for MRI scans. Even those gadolinium compounds are toxic, MDI contrast agents use a chelated form of the chemicals to reduce toxicity. Some people have low tolerance even for these modified forms of the chemical, and their bodies cannot process it safely. This can lead to severe kidney problem for its victims.

If you feel that you have suffered because of a pharmaceutical product you used, you may be entitled to compensation. Do not let big pharmaceutical companies scare you away from taking action and join in on a class action lawsuit.
