On May 8, 2018, the Milwaukee County Historical Society held its annual Awards Dinner at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. The event’s purpose was to honor the extraordinary accomplishments of individuals who have made notable contribution to Milwaukee’s history. Hupy and Abraham was one of the honorees, and was presented with a plaque during the ceremony.
Founded in 1935, the Milwaukee County Historical Society’s mission was to collect, preserve and make available materials relating to the history of the Milwaukee community. The organization provides a large range of activities dedicated to their goal, which includes a campaign to better understand Milwaukee in order to fix current and future issues in the community.
The plaque given to the firm recognized it for providing clients with the best possible representation for their cases, helping them in any way possible and by giving back to the community. Hupy and Abraham celebrated their 50th anniversary in April 2019. Additionally, the organization applauded the firm for achieving this noteworthy accomplishment.
Throughout the evening, businesses, community entities and people were recognized for their impact in the area. Among those awards were the “Witness to History” award, which honors those who have played a significant role in shaping and documenting the history of Milwaukee’s community over an entire career or lifetime and the “Gambrinus Prize,” named after the god of brewing, and is given to the best book-length contributions to Milwaukee historiography.
